Intravenous Sedation
As a practice we pride ourselves on dedicating time and care to the treatment of all our patients. Because of the relaxed atmosphere that exists, we have over the years found that we have attracted many nervous patients.
We have been carrying out Intaveinous sedation in the practice for over 27 years. Intravenous Sedation is an injection in the arm of a tranquilizing drug that makes the patient feel relaxed and removes any feelings of apprehension about dental treatment. As an additional bonus the patient will have little or no recollection of the visit, making it ideal for carrying out dental treatment.
We have found that using this technique we have been successful in treating over 99% of dental phobic patients.
Other patients who will benefit from sedation are
1) Patients who require significant amounts of treatment.
2) Patients having specific treatments such as removal of wisdom teeth or implants find the amnesic effect of this treatment is a huge advantage.
3) Patients who are not good with impressions or who cannot tolerate things in their mouths.
